What is Freemasonry?

lrt

No Secrets

If it were 1880 you would learn that it is "a peculiar system of morality, veiled in allegory....", but in reality Freemasonry is about looking after one another and generally doing the right thing by your fellow man. Just as your family may have traditions, so does our Masonic family. The difference is - these traditions have remained the same for hundreds of years and have their origins among the unbonded or 'free' stonemasons in Europe who needed to have their knowledge of tools and geometry etc. tested prior to being employed on a work site.

When the need for skilled 'operative masons' lessened in the 1700's the workers' co-operatives 'accepted' non-masons in order that the old systems of defining morality, honesty and virtue were not lost.

Brisbane (Lodge Moreton Grand Lodge of Queensland) visit

The fraternal visit to Lodge Moreton under the Grand Lodge of Queensland in Brisbane went as planned on 14 July 2018. Bro John Redman was raised in a very moving ceremony conducted by members of Moreton Lodge in the presence of his father. Thanks to all who managed to make the trip - it was absolutely fabulous. Our sincere thanks to the WM and Brethren of Moreton Lodge for making this a special occasion.
